Gerald Edmonds, Ph.D.
Assistant Provost, Academic Affairs, Syracuse University
Dr. Edmonds is Assistant Provost for Academic Affairs and leads University initiatives on institutional effectiveness and assessment. Jerry was director of SU Project Advance (SUPA) from 2002 through 2014. He remains connected to SUPA, serving as Executive Director and continuing to administer the College Learning Strategies, computer engineering, and economics courses. Jerry is also the founding president (in 2002) of the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP), the governing body for concurrent enrollment programs across the country. He served a second term as president from 2004 to 2006, and he was chair of the Accreditation Committee on the NACEP Board of Directors from 2006 to 2008.
Jerry began his teaching career in 1989 at the University of Windsor teaching two courses in organizational communication. He has also taught instructional design at Ithaca College. At Syracuse University, Jerry teaches IDE 651: Message Design and Digital Media and IDE 632: Instructional Development II, both in the School of Education and MAR 356: Marketing Research and MAR 400/600 Digital Marketing both in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
Jerry received his BA (Hons) in English and Communication Studies from York University, MA in Communication Studies from the University of Windsor, MBA in Management from Syracuse University, and Ph.D. in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation from Syracuse University. He also completed the intensive, highly selective Harvard Institute for Higher Education Management Development Program (MDP).
