What’s the DOL?
Reviewed and rated by more than 150 online educators and subject matter experts, the Dispositions of the Online Learner Instrument is a valid and reliable measure of teacher candidate dispositions that is aligned to ISTE, AECT, and CAEP standards and used by programs as well as other disciplines to track dispositional behaviors as candidates progress through online educator preparation programs.
The EDA, LLC has developed this effective and psychometrically-sound disposition assessment and other instruments, in order to help candidates in online educator prep courses/programs improve and to support programs in their improvement and accreditation efforts.

Why use the DOL?
Providing candidates with information about programmatic dispositional expectations can help cultivate positive attitudes and actions, and ensure candidate success before and during in-service experiences. With this instrument as part of your toolkit, you can continue supporting your candidates’ growth online and still get the data needed to inform quality improvements.
These dispositions are aligned to the InTASC standards and other prominent teacher evaluation instruments to provide programs with the evidence needed to meet CAEP and state-level accreditation requirements. As an added benefit, when you use the DOL instrument in conjunction with your Watermark assessment solution, you’ll be able to simplify processes for rubric distribution, evaluation, and reporting – while generating dispositional assessment data that provides your program with measurable, valid and reliable evidence of learning over time.
