Facing greater public scrutiny, institutions across the country need better ways to assess student learning and make necessary changes to curriculum based on assessment data. With funding from the Gates Foundation, AAC&U and SHEEO led a multi-state collaborative (MSC) to pilot an alternative approach to standardized testing that engages faculty and uses student coursework to assess learning.
