As public colleges and universities across Texas prepare for the New Texas Core Curriculum, many are eager to discuss challenges they are facing and share best practices for assessing student attainment of the six Core Objectives. More than 20 colleges and universities participated in our first Open Forum on the New Texas Core Curriculum in September 2013 and that conversation is continued here.
During this webinar, participants discuss the requirements for the new Texas Core Curriculum. The session is facilitated by Dr. Rex Peebles, a co-chair of the THECB committee responsible for revising the Core Curriculum, and it focuses on:
- Alignment of Core requirements and SACS requirements
- Assessment processes and reporting
- Implementing, supporting, and tracking Core assessment plans
- Best practices for sampling and benchmarking
