FAQs

You have questions, we have answers. Learn what this means for Watermark and Digital Measures users.

Why are Watermark and Digital Measures joining forces? What are the benefits?

Digital Measures and Watermark have come together for the purpose of better serving the higher education community.

Watermark and Digital Measures are each driven by a mission to help colleges and universities more effectively manage core institutional processes, as well as gather and use the resulting data to support both continuous improvement and accreditation reporting needs. Both companies are leaders in their respective spaces, each with distinct yet complementary offerings that, when brought together, provide a more comprehensive solution for higher education. Together, we will provide institutions with more extensive data and more meaningful insights to drive improvements.

Over the last 20 years, Digital Measures has earned an outstanding reputation for supporting faculty in documenting and tracking their teaching, research, and service activities and assisting universities with their ongoing needs to report on that work. Last year, Watermark combined the three largest ePortfolio and assessment management providers in higher education. With the addition of Digital Measures to our family, Watermark can now better support faculty in their daily work and professional development, which we know make a tremendous impact on the success of students and the institution.

Together, we have over 65 years of combined experience developing software to serve higher education and more than 1,400 partner institutions worldwide to help guide our development. With a larger collective community of partner institutions with whom we can collaborate and an increased capacity across critical functions, we look forward to developing better solutions to meet your campus’ current and future needs.

Will the name of the company change?

The Digital Measures community is joining Watermark. Together, we are Watermark.

What is the vision for the company moving forward?

We know that teaching and learning take place and are captured in many different areas and systems across campus. Measuring only a part of that picture is insufficient. This is why Watermark is on a strategic mission to bring these areas together in order to better support and provide members of the higher ed community with the educational intelligence needed to improve outcomes. We want to put better data into the hands of administrators, faculty, and learners everywhere so they can make evidence-based decisions that lead to improvements.

We know faculty are key to improving learning across a campus. Faculty Success (formerly Digital Measures)’s extensive experience in supporting faculty and addressing the challenges of faculty activity reporting play a critical role in our vision. Together, we will work toward a vision for a comprehensive, integrated educational intelligence system that provides a more holistic view of learning and institutional quality to inform improvements across campus.
