Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) FAQs

Learn what this means for Watermark, Faculty Success (formerly Digital Measures) & Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) users.

Why has Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) joined Watermark?

Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) and Watermark have come together for the purpose of better serving the higher education community. After careful evaluation, leadership felt that the combination of Watermark and Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) made a lot of sense given our vision for a comprehensive, integrated educational intelligence system. Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) is a leader in online course evaluation and is driven by a mission to help colleges and universities more effectively manage core institutional processes, as well as gather and use that data to support continuous improvement. Together, we will provide institutions with more extensive data and more meaningful insights to drive improvements.

Founded in 2007 by Kevin Hoffman and Matt Rahdar, Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) is the leading provider of online course evaluation and institutional survey software that allows institutions to simplify their student feedback processes and get valuable data into the hands of stakeholders in a timely way. A two-time SIIA CODiE Award winner for its innovative higher ed solution and deep integrations with all leading higher ed learning management systems, Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) serves over 400 institutions with a complete online course evaluation system – allowing administrators to create and distribute surveys across the entire campus, automate information-rich reporting, and generate actionable insights to manage quality and improve teaching and learning. Today, millions of users at over 400 higher education and K-12 institutions around the world are using Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) to generate actionable insights, manage quality, and improve teaching and learning.

Each company has distinct yet complementary solutions that, when brought together, provide a more comprehensive solution for higher education. We know that teaching and learning take place and are measured in many different ways, areas, and systems across campuses. Measuring only a piece of that picture, whether it’s in course evaluations, learning assessment, or faculty activities, is insufficient for institutions. We also understand how important it is for institutions to give students a voice and to provide faculty with insight into opportunities for course improvements. So, it’s exciting to now be able to offer greater value these groups.

With the addition of Faculty Success (formerly Digital Measures) to Watermark last month and now Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT), we can better support both faculty and students in ways we could not before. Together, as one company, we have over 75 years of combined experience serving higher education and more than 1,600 partner institutions worldwide. With a larger collective community of partner institutions with whom we can collaborate and an increased capacity across critical functions, we look forward to developing better solutions to meet your campus’ current and future needs.

Will the Name of the Company Change?

The Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) community is joining Watermark. Together, we are Watermark.

What is the vision for the company moving forward?

We know that teaching and learning take place and are captured in many different areas and systems across campus. Measuring only a part of that picture is insufficient for an institution. That’s why Watermark is on a strategic mission to bring these areas together in order to better support and provide members of the higher ed community with the educational intelligence needed to improve teaching and learning as well as other institutional outcomes. We want to put better data into the hands of administrators, faculty, and students everywhere so that all of our clients can make evidence-based decisions that lead to improvements.

Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKIT) support of students, faculty, and administrators through the course evaluation process, as well as their experience in addressing the challenges of that process, play a critical role in our vision. Together, as one company, we will work toward a vision for a comprehensive, integrated educational intelligence system that provides a more holistic view of learning and institutional quality to inform improvements across campus.
