July ’08 Upgrade of Taskstream’s Learning Achievement Tools (LAT) supports California’s Teacher Credentialing Programs

NEW YORK (July 25, 2008) — Taskstream, the leading provider of a centralized online system for institutions to manage all assessment, accreditation, and e-portfolio activities, introduced the latest version of its Learning Achievement Tools (LAT). The launch of the July ’08 version provides significant feature enhancements that broaden the capabilities of the tools for use by teacher preparation programs at California Colleges and Universities.

Taskstream’s Learning Achievement Tools (LAT) are used by over 400 institutions nationwide for demonstrating and improving student performance. “Taskstream has always been responsive to the needs of its partner institutions, and is pleased to be able to incorporate specific features into LAT which help teacher-ed students demonstrate competency of California’s Teaching Performance Expectations (TPE),” reports Courtney Peagler, Manager, System Implementations. “Using Taskstream’s LAT to document and evaluate performance provides assessment information to teaching credential candidates for improving the quality of their teaching, and can provide feedback on those areas in which they may need further development.” Added features include diagnostic evaluation, configurable templates for tasks, record of evidence (ROE) forms, and customized rubrics.

“Taskstream’s LAT tools along with our Accountability Management System (AMS), demonstrate to all stakeholders that students are learning the skills and knowledge necessary for success,” stated Kevin Doyle, Taskstream CEO. “We are pleased to be able to play a role in increasing the effectiveness of our nation’s future teachers.”
