Austin, TX — February 11, 2021  Watermark, a pioneer in educational intelligence software, has launched an integrated Placement Management system for teacher education programs. This module, now available with Via by Watermark, streamlines the formerly manual, paper-based process of matching, placing, monitoring and reporting field placements.

Via by Watermark is intentionally designed for schools of education. The new integrated placement management feature makes it easier to place students with sites that meet the right criteria, and build from that placement information to assess their field experiences. The tool connects to the National Center for Education Statistics global site database, gathers student preferences, then, using smart filters, helps placement coordinators assign potential sites to a student. Assessments of the resulting field experiences are captured within Via, keeping all the moving parts and data you need together. Centralizing the placement process and performance assessment ultimately helps you glean insights to foster ongoing improvement, from the classroom to the field.

“We support teacher prep programs in their important work,“ said Brian Robinson, Vice President of Product, Watermark, “and our integrated placement management capability puts data at their fingertips, and frees up valuable time so they can focus on the quality of the experience and learning.”

This offering aligns with Watermark’s ongoing efforts to streamline data collection and analysis that’s so critical to institutional effectiveness assessment. The company recently integrated Via, its student assessment and e-portfolio solution, with its Planning & Self Study product, to make it easy to manage assessment planning, candidate placement, performance assessment, accreditation reporting, and program review.
