NEW YORK (January 22, 2014) — Taskstream, the leading provider of a centralized online system for institutions to manage all assessment, accreditation, and e-portfolio activities, today announced the launch of the Enterprise Data Hub. This significant addition to Taskstream’s assessment management platform establishes a central portal through which institutions can manage data between Taskstream and other data resource systems within or outside the campus infrastructure.
In its first iteration, the Enterprise Data Hub creates a direct data link from Taskstream to Blackboard and Moodle data, allowing students to access Taskstream from directly within the LMS and enabling assignment grades to be automatically passed from Taskstream back to the LMS gradebook. This seamless integration establishes a critical connection between student work submitted at the course level in the LMS and the learning outcomes assessed at the course, program, and institution levels in Taskstream.
“This is a thrilling development for Taskstream as well as its enterprise users,” said Chief Technology Officer of Taskstream Michael Del Rio. “The Enterprise Data Hub has been built to scale utilizing non-relational database technology to process vast amounts of data in a rapidly changing data landscape. The LMS integrations utilize data from the Enterprise Data Hub in conjunction with IMS Global LTI standards as well as native LMS APIs to establish these deep integrations.”
Building upon the success of Taskstream’s analytics engine – launched in April 2013 – to provide intuitive assessment data visualizations to all users, the release of the Enterprise Data Hub demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing forward-thinking, innovative solutions to improve learning. Beginning in spring 2014, expanded support for the Canvas, Desire2Learn, and Sakai LMS environments will be available in addition to support for SIS and other data consumption options in the Enterprise Data Hub.
