NEW YORK— October 22, 2019 – Watermark, the largest provider of educational intelligence solutions for higher ed worldwide, is pleased to expand its partnership with Fresno City College located in Fresno, CA. Fresno City College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The institution selected Watermark’s enterprise course evaluation and institutional survey solution for use across all online and onsite courses.

Fresno will be moving away from its once paper-based process and homegrown evaluation solution. With a focus on improving the quality of its programs, effectiveness of curriculum, as well as accreditation reporting, the institution will use Watermark to streamline the process of capturing student feedback across the institution at different points in time. By centralizing and automating information-rich reporting, both faculty and administrators will have the actionable data needed to monitor quality and make real-time decisions that improve teaching and learning. Specifically, the institution is able to:

  • administer course evaluations across all academic units in accordance with specific dates at multiple time points throughout the year,
  • build transparency by providing reports of course evaluation data in multiple formats for various stakeholders,
  • access raw data as well as expand its dataset through complete integration with its other campus systems, including its Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) and its Learning Management System (LMS), Canvas.

As the only course evaluation and survey solution designed for education, EvaluationKIT by Watermark supports turnkey integrations with all leading LMSs, including Canvas, allowing key institutional data to be imported to automate and streamline the survey process while supporting increased communication with students.

“We used Watermark for our online course evaluations last year. Now, we’re looking to deploy course evaluations seamlessly to students across the entire institution. With Watermark, we’ll be able to do that and look forward to increased response rates and better quality data. We’ll be able to compare results from an instructor or course against specific grouped data, access longitudinal reporting to view results over time, and capture operational reporting to identify areas for improvement – the kinds of information that will help inform planning, improve curriculum, and drive quality at all levels,” said Don Lopez, Vice President of Instruction at Fresno City College.

“We’re honored to continue supporting the improvement efforts at Fresno City College. As the College prepares to administer its evaluations institution wide, we look forward to providing Fresno with an increased level of student feedback and better insight into course effectiveness, in order to streamline processes for making curricular improvements,” said Kevin Michielsen, CEO of Watermark.

“At Watermark, we look to ease these institutional data collection processes so that faculty and administrators can focus more on using their data to make meaningful improvements to teaching and learning.”

Founded in 1910, Fresno City College is a comprehensive learning community offering innovative instructional programs in anticipation of and responsive to the lifelong learning needs of a diverse population. The College provides a wide variety of supportive services to assist students in achieving their educational goals.
