CHE 2024 Institutional assessment survey report

June 6, 2024 Watermark Insights

Amid increasing scrutiny of higher education's value, assessment professionals maintain that they possess the tools to demonstrate the worth of college degrees. Supported by Watermark, The Chronicle of Higher Education surveyed 871 administrators and faculty from March 25 to April 8, 2024, supplemented by extensive follow-up research and interviews to gain insights into the current role of assessment on campuses.

The survey results and interviews highlighted three key themes: engaging faculty in assessment, streamlining and enhancing assessment processes, and using assessment to improve learning.
