Using e-portfolios to assess general education is growing but remains challenging because of unique characteristics of general education itself, including diffused responsibility for learning in general education courses and some faculty who have a stake in student learning within general education but who may not be teaching general education courses themselves. This webinar focuses on strategies for engaging faculty across the institution in the entire process of assessing general education e-portfolios, from rubric construction through evaluating individual student artifacts, drawing conclusions from evaluations, designing action plans, and evaluating second generation student artifacts to determine how program and assessment changes have (or have not) enhanced student learning.
